Spill control equipment can be found in the maintenance shop (Figure 3). <br /> 4.5 Response to an Incidental Spills/Leaks <br /> Incidental spills and leaks are defined as one that poses no significant harm or threat to <br /> human health and safety to the environment. Incidental spills and leaks are generally <br /> those where: <br /> • The quantity of the product is limited in quantity, exposure potential, or toxicity <br /> • Discharged material is easily stopped and controlled at the time of the discharge <br /> • The spill can be cleaned up within a short time frame (i.e. less than 6 to 8 hours) <br /> • Spills and leaks that are fully contained within spill containment <br /> • Spill/leak is localized near the source <br /> • Spilled material is unlikely to reach water <br /> • There is little risk to human health or safety <br /> • There is little risk of fire or explosion <br /> In the event of an incidental spill or leak, the following guidelines should be followed: <br /> 1) Upon initial discovery: <br /> a) Determine: <br />
