Brown Sand,Inc. <br /> Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan Page: 30 <br /> June 3, 2020 <br /> • It requires immediate attention because of danger <br /> • It represents an oxygen deficient condition <br /> In the event of an emergency response situation, the following guidelines should be <br /> followed: <br /> 1) Upon initial discovery: <br /> a) Determine: <br /> • Is the spill incidental or emergency response? <br /> • Should you evacuate or respond? <br /> b) Safety First: <br /> • Do not put yourself in harm's way <br /> • If conditions change, the spill or leak may no longer be incidental <br /> 2) Inform and Block: <br /> a) Notify an Emergency Coordinator <br /> • Inform: who, what, where, how much <br /> b) Limit traffic through the spill area <br /> 3) Call Emergency Responders: <br /> a) 911 <br /> b) Fremouw Environmental Service.: (800) 559-3274 <br /> 4) Protect Yourself <br /> a) What Personal Protective Equipment is needed? <br /> • Check with Emergency Coordinator <br /> • Check SDS sheets <br /> 5) Deploy Spill Response Materials <br /> a) For Emergency Response: <br /> • Prevent spill from entering the natural drainage areas and protect <br /> around the well using absorbents,wattles, dirt, large equipment, etc. <br /> 6) Bag or containerize waste <br /> a) Place waste in proper containers (i.e. stockpile on plastic sheeting) <br /> b) Label properly <br /> c) Store properly prior to disposal <br /> 7) Decontaminate <br /> a) Clean floors, tools, surfaces exposed to spill <br /> b) Discard used PPE <br /> c) Wash hands, face, arms, etc. <br /> 8) Restock <br /> a) Replace used spill equipment and PPE <br /> A list of emergency contacts is provided above in Section 4.1, and the spill cleanup <br /> contractor's contact information is located above in Section 4.3. Spill control equipment <br /> is located throughout the facility (Figure 3) and is discussed in detail in Section 4.4. <br />
