All personnel are responsible for continuous adherence to the safety procedures during the <br /> performance of the work. In no case may work be performed in a manner that conflicts with the <br /> intent of the safety and environmental cautions expressed in these procedures. After due <br /> warning, personnel who violate safety procedures will be dismissed from the site and potentially <br /> terminated. All on-site personnel will be trained as necessary according to the specifications set <br /> forth by Title 8 California Code of Regulations Section 5192 and this document. All personnel <br /> employed on this project shall, at a minimum, have successfully completed the 40-hour <br /> hazardous waste workers training [Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response <br /> Training (HAZWOPER)] and annual 8-hour refresher training as specified in the 29 CFR <br /> 1910.120 (Title 8 CCR, Section 5192). Copies of HAZWOPER certificates will be kept at Tetra <br /> Tech's project manager's office in Pasadena, CA. The medical surveillance program for this <br /> project consists of an annual medical clearance exam for project personnel per HAZWOPER and <br /> Tetra Tech's Corporate Medical Surveillance Program. No additional medical surveillance is <br /> required for this project. <br /> 5.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (REPLACE THIS SECTION) <br /> Selection of the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required prior to the <br /> commencement of work. Key factors involved in this process are identification of known and <br /> suspected hazards, routes of entry, and the performance of the PPE in providing a barrier to these <br /> hazards. <br /> PPE is divided into four categories based on the amount of protection afforded. Level A is the <br /> highest level of protection and Level D is the lowest.
