All personnel are responsible for continuous adherence to the safety procedures during the
performance of the work. In no case may work be performed in a manner that conflicts with the
intent of the safety and environmental cautions expressed in these procedures. After due
warning, personnel who violate safety procedures will be dismissed from the site and potentially
terminated. All on-site personnel will be trained as necessary according to the specifications set
forth by Title 8 California Code of Regulations Section 5192 and this document. All personnel
employed on this project shall, at a minimum, have successfully completed the 40-hour
hazardous waste workers training [Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response
Training (HAZWOPER)] and annual 8-hour refresher training as specified in the 29 CFR
1910.120 (Title 8 CCR, Section 5192). Copies of HAZWOPER certificates will be kept at Tetra
Tech's project manager's office in Pasadena, CA. The medical surveillance program for this
project consists of an annual medical clearance exam for project personnel per HAZWOPER and
Tetra Tech's Corporate Medical Surveillance Program. No additional medical surveillance is
required for this project.
5.0 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (REPLACE THIS SECTION)
Selection of the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required prior to the
commencement of work. Key factors involved in this process are identification of known and
suspected hazards, routes of entry, and the performance of the PPE in providing a barrier to these
hazards.
PPE is divided into four categories based on the amount of protection afforded. Level A is the
highest level of protection and Level D is the lowest. Levels A and B require self-contained
Rough&Ready Island 9 Tetra Tech, Inc.
Final Work Plan Addendum December 11, 1998.
