Inside the Building
Two anomalous large concrete patches were noted along the eastern warehouse floor
space within the interior of the main building. They were located approximately at the
northeastern and southeastern corners of the building. The results of laboratory analysis
from soil samples in both of these locations indicate the presence of high concentrations
(above regulatory standards) of both diesel range (C11-22) and motor-oil range
hydrocarbons (C23-C35). Specifically, soil sample SB-112 at 10 feet indicated diesel
and oil range hydrocarbons at 20,600 and 48,200 mg/Kg, respectively (Tables 2 and 4,
Figure 5).
An area of low-level Freon I 1 impact has been defined by soil vapor testing that appears
associated with the vault/tunnel/floor drain system. Low concentrations of TCE and
PCE (below CHHSLs) were detected in soil vapor from SV-24 (0.13 and 0.34 ug/L,
respectively), which is in the northern concrete patch; however, TCE and PCE were not
detected in soil matrix samples SV-24.
Since this was an initial assessment, the contaminants found were not delineated horizontally or
vertically for any of the three media. As required by the San Joaquin County Department of
Environmental Health (SJCDEH) permit and due to discovery of a release on the subject
property, the results of this assessment are required to be provided to the SJVDEH for their
evaluation and regulatory review.
Limited Phase 11 Environmental Site Assessment Report Pinnacle Em ironmental,Inc.
248 Industrial Avenue,Stockton,CA 95206 Page 26
