5.4.6 Water Wells The EDR report lists thirteen water wells within 1 mile of the Site. The only well on this list within 1/4 mile lies approximately 220 feet east from the Site. (See Appendix A, Figure 3). It appears that this well, installed July 10, 2003, is the well operated by City of Stockton, Cal Water. The well is operating at a depth of 408 feet and is enclosed in an eight-foot high wrought iron fence. An additional inactive water well was discovered approximately 175 feet southeast of the Site on adjacent property during the Site Reconnaissance. The wellhead and pump still exist but no further information about this well is known. (See Appendix E, Photographs) An inactive domestic water well exists on Site. This well is slated for destruction in December of 2006. The well will be destroyed according to the California Division of Water Resources (DWR) and San Joaquin County rules and regulations under the oversight of Aperio Inc. 5.4.7 Gas / Oil Wells The Site is located above the Harte Gas Field as defined by the California Department of Conservation, Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR), Oil and Gas Map#606. EDR lists 13 oil and/or gas wells within one mile of the Site, however none of these wells are located on Site. Figure 3 in Appendix A displays the locations of the 8 nearest oil wells to the Site. The closest well, the "Foppiano" well (lat. 38.04612, long. —121.32338) is approximately 200 feet to the west of the Site. Another well, the "KCY- Reserve Podesta Unit" well (lat 38.04355, -121.3224) is approximately 500 feet to the southeast of the Site. The DOGGR, Oil and Gas Map#606 shows that both of these wells were"plugged and abandoned dry holes". Consequently, no oil and/or gas wells are located on the Site and the nearest wells never were producing wells. 5.4.7 Sanborn Fire Maps Sanborn Fire Maps were unavailable due to the rural nature of the Site. 5.4.8 City Directory The EDR-City Directory has no listings by the Polk Directory of the Site or surrounding addresses until 1984. Several area businesses and residences are listed from 1984 through 2003, although the Site is not listed. No reference is made to the anecdotal evidence naming the Site as the "Foppiano" property. 5.5 Historic Aerial Photographs Aerial photographs from 1957, 1963, 1970, 1982, 1993 and 1998 were obtained from EDR(See Appendix Q. From 1957 to the present,the Site and it's environs have remained rural/agricultural in nature. The 1957 photo shows evidence of a developing orchard over the majority of the property alongside the house garage and a third structure (barn).
