pan for storage of containers in cabinets, etc.); <br />4. The condition of the secondary containment (i.e., clean, dry and intact); <br />and <br />5. That proper housekeeping is being implemented and maintained (i.e., <br />clean, organized and kept free of debris and free standing liquids, oils). <br />6.6.6. All stored hazardous substances will be inspected for the following conditions: <br />1. That the hazardous substance is properly labeled: <br />a. Name of material; <br />b. Hazardous characteristic (flammable, corrosive, toxic, reactive or <br />explosive), <br />C. Date of Receipt and Hazardous Characteristics labels. <br />2. That the material is properly stored (i.e., flammable are stored in <br />flammable storage cabinets, water reactive materials are not stored under <br />sinks, acids and bases are not stored together, etc.). <br />3. That the hazardous substance container is in acceptable condition (i.e., <br />plastic containers are not brittle, glass containers are not cracked, metal <br />containers are not dented or corroded, etc.). <br />6.6.7. An inventory of all stored hazardous substances will be taken by the facility's EE <br />or his designee on a quarterly basis. Provide the following information: <br />1. Material identification: <br />a. Name; <br />b. Manufacturer; <br />C. Hazardous characteristic; <br />2. Location (department and storage area); <br />3. Quantity (container size/volume and remaining amount); <br />4. Date of receipt (label date); <br />6.6.8. It will be the responsibility of the facility's EE to redesignate any hazardous <br />substance that has been stored on-site for more then one (1) year from the date <br />of receipt as a hazardous waste and to insure that the redesignated hazardous <br />substance is managed and disposed of as a hazardous waste. For specific <br />instructions on the management of hazardous wastes reference the QBR <br />facility's Hazardous Waste Management Plan. <br />Any department/operation that wishes to store a hazardous substance for longer <br />than one year must request and receive authorization from the facility's EE prior <br />Draft HMMP <br />March, 2000 HMMP-10 <br />
