1. Review the hazardous wastestream's Wastestream Profile Reference
Sheet and verify that the container is compatible with the hazardous
wastestream, then;
2. Securely affix to the container an approved "HAZARDOUS WASTE" label
and provide, at a minimum, the following information:
a. The QBR assigned wastestream number identifying the approved
hazardous waste which will be stored in the container;
b. A description of the approved hazardous wastestream (i.e., the
wastestream composition as listed on the wastestream's Profile
Sheet);
C. The wastestream's hazard characteristic(s) (i.e., flammable,
corrosive, toxic, etc.) labels;
d. The container's identification number;
e. Any special handling or storage instructions (reference the
hazardous waste's Wastestream Profile Reference Sheet for
specific instructions);
7.3.7 Upon issuance of an inspected and labeled hazardous waste container for the
purpose of accumulating and/or storing hazardous waste, the facility's EE will do
the following:
1. Will date the container as follows:
a. "Start Date" is the date the container is issued for use. This date is
the start date for tracking the 90 -day storage period; and
b. "End Date" is the date 90 days after the "Start Date". The
hazardous waste storage container MUST be manifested off-site
for proper disposal on or before this date REGARDLESS of
whether the container is full or not.
For example, if a container is issued for use on 8/11/99, then 8/1/99 is the
official start date for tracking the 90 -day storage period even though
hazardous waste may not actually start to be accumulated until after this
date. The official "End Date" is 90 days after the official start date; for this
example, 11/1/99. The hazardous waste storage container must without
exception be manifested off-site on or before this end date. No
hazardous waste storage container shall be allowed to remain on-site past
the container's END DATE.
Draft HMMP
March, 2000 HMMP-19
