in accordance with this Plan.
3. All hazardous waste containers stored in predesignated satellite
accumulation storage locations may be accumulated and stored for up to
one year from the container's issue date only if the following conditions
are met-
a. The container size is 55 gallons or less, and issued and labeled in
accordance with this Plan; and
b. Is located in a predesignated satellite accumulation location which
meets all of the following conditions:
No more than 55 gallons of hazardous waste (or 1 quart of
extremely hazardous waste) is accumulated and stored at
the designated location;
ii. The designated satellite accumulation point is located at the
end of a specific process or operation AND IS DEDICATED
to the accumulation and storage of the waste generated
from that process/operation ONLY; and
iii. The satellite accumulation location and container is under
the control of the person(s) who operate the process
generating the hazardous waste and who disposes of the
waste into the container.
C. Within three days of filling the container, the following is done:
The accumulation "Start Date" and "End Date" are provided;
the "Start Date" being the date the container is filled, the
"End Date" being 90 days following the start date; and
ii. The container is sealed and moved to the appropriate
90 -day storage area/unit and managed accordingly.
d. Intermediate satellite accumulation containers are containers in
which the hazardous waste is accumulated then transferred to an
approved storage container located in a 90 -day storage area/unit.
INTERMEDIATE SATELLITE ACCUMULATION CONTAINERS
ARE TO BE EMPTIED AT THE END OF EACH WORK SHIFT.
7.6 Inspection and Inventory Control of Active Hazardous Waste Containers
7.6.1 The facility's EE will be responsible for inspection and inventory of all active
Draft HMMP
March, 2000 HMMP-23
