Each monitoring year of the GENERAL PERMIT QBR is obligated to collect <br />storm water samples from the first storm event of the wet season which <br />produces a significant discharge. If the site is unable to collect storm water <br />samples from the first significant storm event of the wet season, then QBR <br />SWPPT representatives shall insure that an explanation is provided and <br />made a part of QBR=s Annual Report. <br />Samples must be collected following three working days of dry weather <br />conditions (i.e., no offsite discharge). Samples are only required to be <br />collected during the wet season (October through May), during normal <br />business hours and then only during daylight hours. Sample collection is not <br />required during adverse weather conditions and/or under unsafe sampling <br />conditions. <br />QBR=s sample preparation and analysis shall be conducted by a California <br />certified wastewater testing laboratory and be prepared and preserved in <br />accordance with the current edition of "Standard Methods for the Examination <br />of Water and Wastewater". All analysis shall be conducted in accordance <br />with 40 CFR 136 or EPA approved equivalent methods. <br />The following Quality Control (QC) samples shall be run with each laboratory <br />sample set or analytical batch which may contain QBR=s storm water <br />samples: <br />(1) Method Blanks <br />(2) Matrix Spike Samples <br />(3) Matrix Duplicate <br />1 per batch or every 20 samples, which <br />ever is greater. <br />1 control matrix spike and 1 field matrix <br />spike per batch or every 20 samples, <br />which ever is greater. <br />1 per matrix or every 20 (i.e., TSS, pH) <br />samples. <br />2.3.2 Sampling and Reporting Responsibilities <br />QBR=s SWPPT shall be responsible for scheduling sampling activities <br />providing the following items and support: <br />X Sample Containers: All sample containers are to be provided by <br />QBR=s designated testing laboratory. <br />X Chain of Custody: A laboratory sample Chain of Custody/Work <br />CATEWSMPUVIdoc Section 2-38 <br />
