Leprino is expediting abandonment of these wells due to plant expansion construction
activities.
hi an 18 September 2000 phone conversation with Mr. Robert Garcia of Leprino Foods, he stated that
MW-1 and MW-12 are in the loading area, which will be converted to a silo clean room. Consequently,
the wells will be inaccessible for sampling and abandonment because silos will cover the wells.
Therefore, I agreed with Mr. Garcia that the wells should be abandoned. Based on data that will be
presented at the 13 October 2000 meeting, replacement or additional wells may be needed at the site.
The work plan is hereby approved. I may wish to be present for well abandonment activities, so please
notify me at least 72 hours prior to abandoning the wells. If you have any questions, you may contact
me at (916) 255-3119.
SICA HARDY
EE,ylgineering Geologist
cc: Mr. Michael Infurna, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Services, Stockton
Mr. Brendan Shine, HSI GeoTrans, Westminster, Colorado
California Environmental Protection Agency
pia Recycled Paper
