Site Investigation Work Plan _
Country Market (`/J
10476 West Linne Road, Tracy, California a ntea'g ro u p
Antea Group Project No. CTRVMKT
underground utilities in the vicinity of the proposed borings. Antea Group will notify the appropriate site contacts
and the SICEHD approximately five (5) days prior to commencing field activities
i 4.3 Soil Sampling
During boring advancement, Antea Group will collect continuous soil samples for lithologic logging using the field
procedures outlined in Appendix A:
An Antea Group geologist will log the lithology in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System and will
screen the soil samples for volatile organic vapors at approximately 1-foot intervals using a photoionization
-- detector (PID). We will record PID readings on the respective boring logs.
Antea Group will submit soil samples for laboratory analysis as follows:
• At depths of 5-, 10- and 15-feet bgs in borings SB-1 through S13-4;
• At depths of 10-, 15- and 20-feet bgs in boring SB-5;
• Additional samples will be retained for laboratory analyses if elevated PID readings are detected, or soil
staining is observed . -
i
(_ Antea Group will label the soil sample retained for laboratory analysis with a unique sample name and place the
sample In an ice-cooled chest following chain-of-custody documentation. Antea Group will submit the soil samples
to a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) certified laboratory for the following
 — analyses:
• Gasoline Range Organics (GRO), using EP EPA Test Method 8260Bbenzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes
(collectively BTEX) and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) by EPA Test Method 826013;
• Total lead by EPA Method 6010. Antea Group will temporarily store the drums on-site, pending receipt of
analytical data. Upon receipt of the results, Antea Group's waste management contractor will transport and
J dispose of the investigation-derived waste at an appropriate facility.
3
L
