Diamond Lumber-Lodi Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Pae 6
Ethylenebromide (EDB) was not included in the suite of analytes, because EDB degrades in soil very
' rapidly (EDB is converted almost completely within 2 months to ethylene) and also in water, where
it hydrolyses to ethyleneglycol and bromoethanol (under neutral conditions and ambient temperature
the half-life of the reaction is 5-10 days). SRK requested further guidance and justification from Ms.
Margaret Lagorio, Senior RENS, San Joaquin County PHS/EHD, prior to this sampling event,
however, no response was received by SRK from the PHS/EHD during or after the sampling event.
6.0 ANALYTICAL DATA
Organic and inorganic analyses were performed by ACZ Laboratories (CA Lab #E608). Copies of
the analytical data and chain-of-custody are provided in Appendix C. The chain-of-custody states that
the groundwater samples were received by the laboratory in good condition at 4 C. The chain-of-
custody clearly documents that the samples were shipped from California to Colorado and also
illustrate Sample Identification ("SRK-MW1-Lodi"). The top of the chain-of-custody form clearly
states the name and address of ACZ Laboratories in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
The constituents of BTEX or volatile hydrocarbons were not detected in SRK
y monitoring wells SRK-
MW1 or SRK-MW3. As previously mentioned, monitoring well SRK-MW2 was bailed dry after one
casing volume was removed, and did not recharge sufficiently after purging. No sample was collected
from SRK-MW2. Lead concentrations were 12 ppb in monitoring well SRK-MW1 and 170 ppb in
monitoring well SRK-MW3, respectively (both analyses following EPA 239.2 GFAA).
Table 2 includes all of the available groundwater data for the monitoring wells installed by SRK in
1991.
TABLE 2: Analytical Groundwater Data
t+Fovetic,r 75;'19J1.
