(AGE),
requested that the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) reconsider
their recommendation to delay the ozone pilot test and presented the following reasons why the
ozone pilot study should be implemented at this time:
• Soil vapor extraction (SVE) remediation does not address soil contamination at depths of
approximately 20 to 25 feet below surface grade (bsg) where significant concentrations
of contaminants of concern have been detected; and
• SVE remediation does not address the high concentration of dissolved-phase petroleum
hydrocarbon contamination present at this site.
The EHD has reconsidered its decision to delay the ozone pilot test and approves submitting a
work plan that includes the implementation of the ozone pilot study as well as the installation of
a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system. AGE has requested and the EHD approves extending the
date for receiving the work plan from 12 September 2012 to 30 September 2012.
Please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-9852 or by email at vrnccartneyCd)sicehd.com if
you have any questions concerning this letter.
Sincerely, /
'✓.
