Six soil borings were advanced to approximately 26 feet below
ground surface (bgs) on August 11 and 12, 2005, and high concentrations of total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, total xylenes (BTEX);
methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE), and tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME) were detected in
grab groundwater samples collected from three soil borings located near the underground
storage tanks.
EHD agrees with AGE's recommendation that additional site assessment is needed to define
the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater at
this site. Please submit a work plan to EHD by February 17, 2006, that will address these
issues.
Please contact Vicki McCartney at (209) 468-3456, or by email at vmccartney(eDsjcehd.com
if you have any questions regarding this letter.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health
Department
Victoria L.
