The specific locations are shown in Figure 1 with the
generator brand and fuel quantity present in the in-unit tanks. The fuel quantities vary from 181
gallons to 1,000 gallons in the largest generator. The generator units are periodically run for
testing and maintenance purposes in accordance with the air emission permits from the San
Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD). Re-fueling of the in-unit tanks is
provided periodically by Valley Pacific Petroleum Services (Valley Pacific), a petroleum vendor
located in Stockton, California. Additional information regarding the location of the five diesel
generators can be found in Figures A3 through Al 7 and Tables 2-1, 3-1 and 3-2.
In addition, the University fuels its various facility maintenance vehicles from an aboveground
diesel/gasoline above ground storage tank (AST) located in an asphalted area on the south side
of the Physical plant. The facility handles, stores and uses, and distributes petroleum products in
the form diesel, No. 2. The University receives diesel/gasoline delivery by common carrier via
tanker truck. The diesel and gasoline are stored in a 2,000-gallon Convault aboveground storage
tank. The diesel is in a 500 gallon compartment and the gasoline in a 1,500 gallon compartment.
The AST has internal secondary containment. There are no underground storage tanks (UST)
on site. The facility refuels its own vehicles from the AST using a fueling pump located on the
AST. Hours of operation are between typically 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM, 5 days per week, although
there are provisions for periodic weekend shift operations.
