The South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID) also operates a network of groundwater wells <br /> within the city of Manteca for large volume irrigation supply According to SSJID records, none of <br /> their wells are located within the site vicinity, however, three of their wells do exist within one mile <br /> of the site <br /> 1 <br /> Reconnaissance of the site vicinity included a walking tour of the area within at least 500 feet of <br /> ' the site The site vicinity is mostly flat urban land, bisected by a 150-foot wide Union Pacific <br /> Railroad right-of-way Immediately east of the site at 430 Moffat Boulevard is the 99 Salvage and <br /> Recycling Center, and immediately west of the site at 346 Moffat Boulevard is the Manteca <br /> ' Recycling Center Across Moffat Boulevard to the north of the site are two small motels and the <br /> Manteca High School campus <br /> ' Across the railroad right-of way from the site are light industrial and commercial operations along <br /> g P 9 <br /> Wetmore Street, which parallels the railroad to the south Along Wetmore Street, the city of <br /> ' Manteca operates their water well #5 and water tower, and their solid waste and animal control <br /> activities Also along Wetmore Street is a cement batch plant, a large building contractor's yard, <br /> ' and several other light commercial warehouse buildings Reconnaissance and interviews along <br /> Wetmore Street did not identify any other water wells <br /> Other sensitive receptors identified in the site vicinity include the Lincoln Elementary School at <br /> 750 East Yosemite Avenue and the Lincoln Park and community swimming pool Lincoln School <br /> ' is approximately 2,000-feet northeast of the site and Lincoln Park is approximately 1,000-feet <br /> northeast of the site No hospitals, significant surface water bodies or other sensitive receptors <br /> were observed in the site vicinity <br />
