The Work Plan proposes to drill 10 borings to
collect grab groundwater samples and based on the results of the grab groundwater samples,
install a monitoring well to delineate the lateral extent of petroleum pollution west of monitoring
well MW-33.
We have the following comments on the Work Plan:
1. The Work Plan provides the analytical methods for the grab groundwater samples, but not
the specific constituents. Equiva needs to provide the specific constituents that the each
analytical method will provide.
2. The Work Plan states Equiva will measure pH, temperature, and specific conductance
during well development, but not turbidity although the Work Plan proposes to monitor
turbidity during the collection of the grab groundwater samples. Equiva needs to collect
turbidity measurements during both the grab groundwater sampling and well development
activities.
3. The Work Plan does not include a section to discuss the disposal of soil cuttings and
water generated during proposed activities. Equiva must provide this information.
4. The Work Plan is not stamped by a registered professional. The California Business and
Professions Code Sections 6735, 7835, and 7835.1,require that all reports shall be
prepared by a registered professional or their subordinate and signed by the registered
professional.
California Environmental Protection Agency
Co Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
