r- MRKLEINFELDER File No. 20-3941-O1.E01 April 11, 1996 • Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance the soil borings at the proposed locations. If the drilling equipment cannot be positioned, alterative drilling locations or sampling methods should be investigated. The borings are to be drilled with a truck-mounted drill rig equipped with hollow-stem augers. If alternative drilling methods or concrete cutting are required, additional costs may be incurred. • This work would be conducted concurrent with a geotechnical investigation being conducted for on the project for Korve Engineering. The scope of work for the geotechnical investigation and its associated costs are not included in this scope of work or on the attached'!cost estimate. However considerable savings were realized by the City of Escalon as evidenced"by the proposal to Korve. • No respiratory protection, elevated levels of personal protective equipment, or shoring will- be necessary. • Soil and water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the responsibility of the client, and disposal costs have not been included in our estimate. Soil cuttings will be : in drums adjacent to the chosen boring locations. Water generated from equipment decontamination rinseate will be placed in 55-gallon drums and left adjacent to the boring locations. Disposal or remediation options for the soil and water can be assessed once analytical results have been received, at an additional charge. Kleinfelder can assist''the client with the disposal of soil and water if necessary, at an additional charge. • The client will be responsible for locating all underground utilities and other subsurface structures that could interfere with drilling operations or be damaged during drilling. Failure to locate such lines or structures will be the sole responsibility of the client. Underground Services Alert(USA) at 1-800-642-2444 provides this service free of charge for major utility lines. Kleinfelder can make contact with USA for a site visit, if requested. • Groundwater is anticipated at a depth of approximately 65 to 70 feet below surface grade. If groundwater is encountered at greater or lesser depths, costs will be adjusted accordingly. a • The proposed scope of work and cost estimate is based on the previously described scope of work. If additional services are deemed necessary, the client will be notified immediately. • All right-of-entry agreements will be obtained by the City of Escalon, and will be satisfactorily supplied by the City to Kleinfelder. • Encroachment permits for City of Escalon property will be provided free of charge.
