GeosyntecD
consultants
• A hydropunch groundwater sample collected from the future monitoring well
MW-216B at depth of 75 to 85 feet bgs would be labeled as follows:
GW-MW-216B-75-85.
Quality control samples collected during this investigation will include duplicate
groundwater samples, equipment blanks, and trip blanks.
Duplicate, equipment blank, and trip blank samples will be labeled in the field using a
"D" for duplicate samples, "EB" for equipment blank samples, and "TB" for trip blank
samples followed by the date collected in a YYYYMMDD (Year, Month, Day) format
then followed by a two-digit number designating sequence the duplicate or blank was
taken. Sample tracking sheets will be utilized to correlate field duplicate sample to the
corresponding primary samples. An example of the nomenclature for duplicate,
equipment blank, and trip blank samples are as follows:
Example(Duplicate):
• The first duplicate groundwater sample collected at a specific location on a
given sampling day(using 15 June 2012)would be: D20120615-01.
• A second duplicate groundwater sample collected at a different location on the
same day would be: D20120615-02
Example(equipment blank)
• The first equipment blank sample collected on a given sampling day (using
15 June 2012)would be: EB20120615-01.
Example(Trip Blank)
• The first trip blank sample collected on a given sample day(using 15 June 2012)
would be T1320120615-01.
4.2.5 Sample Packaging and Handling
As samples are collected in the field, they will be handled and placed into containers as
specified by the laboratory. A list of appropriate analytes for each sample will be
included on a completed sample COC form. The COC will include the sample
identification, location, date and time of the sampling, number and type of containers,
and a list of analyses to be performed. Sample documentation will be completed in the
field, and the COC will accompany the samples through the transportation and analysis.
Pre-Design Investigation Work Plan 22 18.05.12
