Absorbents used on spills at CNC lathes and various machines at the back shop (photo 12,19). <br /> Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of <br /> hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br /> * Immediately make a hazardous waste determination and manage this waste according to Title 22 <br /> hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this <br /> waste was managed by December 19, 2011. <br /> 404. Five 55-gallon drums and one 5-gallon bucket of waste oil (photo 21) at the waste oil storage area <br /> of the back shop, and three lidless 55-gallon drums of waste oil by the shelves in the back shop were not <br /> close. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing <br /> waste. <br /> * Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not <br /> adding or removing waste. Submit documentation of correction by December 19, 2011. <br /> 407. One empty 55-gallon drum outside the back shop was not labeled or managed within one year. <br /> Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the <br /> date they were emptied and managed within one year of being emptied. <br /> * Immediately mark and manage all empty containers by reuse, recycle, or disposal per this section. <br /> Submit documentation of correction by December 19, 2011. <br /> 605 & 701. No hazardous waste label on seven 55-gallon drums and one 5-gallon bucket of waste oil at <br /> the waste oil storage area, and the three 55-gallon drums of waste oil in the back shop (see above Item <br /> #404). All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties <br /> 4. physical state <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required <br /> information.
