' 06 November 2002
AGE-NC Project No 98-0540
' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA
Method 8015M,
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and the fuel additives methyl
' tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPS), ethyl
tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB)
' and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method SW846 8260B
A ground water sample from the on-site domestic well was also collected and analyzed To ensure
that formation water was being produced, water was allowed to run out of the well for approximately
15 minutes Ground water was poured directly Into the 40-m1 VOA vials from a facet at the well
head
r
23 PURGE WATER DISPOSAL
On 24 Se tember 2002 approximately 500 gallons of non-hazardous purge waterwas pumped from
. on-site 55-gallon drums The purge water had been generated during previous ground water
monitoring events Pumping and disposal was completed by American Valley Waste OII, Inc of
Delhi, California The purge water was disposed at Riverbank Oil Transfer located in Riverbank,
California A copy of the waste disposal manifest is included in Appendix A
3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation and flow direction were deducted from field data, hydrocarbon-impact to
ground water was assessed by laboratory analysis of the ground water samples
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
The elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1) Depths to ground water ranged from 76 73 feet to
76 94 feet below the tops of the well casings Ground water elevations at the site ranged from 20 01
feet below mean sea level (MSL) in MW-2 to 20 20 feet below MSL in MW-3 The maximum
Iground water gradient was calculated to be 0 005 ft/ft, directed toward the east-southeast
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
