Following is summary of my review of the ARCO site. The
review of the other two sites, Weinerschnitzel and the Baptist Church,
will follow in separate e-mails due to the size considerations of the
photo file properties
The existing well is in the southwest corner of the property,
see photo ORG-102604-01-PF. The well is close to existing public
telephones, storm drains, utility vaults and above ground lighting as
well as existing service station tanks and vents, see photos
ORG-102604-02-PF and ORG-102604-03-PF. The concrete block wall just
south of the well is a three foot high +/- retaining wall separating
ARCO from the adjacent orchard. The orchard is very close to the south
and east ARCO property lines. The north and west property lines are on
the frontage road and Hammer Lane curbs. New retaining walls will be
constructed at these lines to account for the change in grade up for
both roadways of three to five feet. The future access to the station
will be from new ramp driveways at the south and east sides of the
property. No septic systems or leach fields were found during my
inspection. I questioned the personnel at the service station but did
not gain any information about the well issue. At the rear (east) of
the service station I found two large pieces of equipment, see photos
ORG-102604-04-PF. 5C-okNhu-Jvo A
I discussed the well with Mr Matt Osowski of Delta Environmental
which is the consultant for BP, the owner of the property, on October
28th. We discussed the basic construction of the structures and roadway
near the ARCO site and the fact that the City has been contacted by
Adrienne at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD) to assist in the well issue. Matt stated he was told by BP
that there is a septic system and leach field somewhere near the site.
BP would have more information on this detail as well as details
concerning the existing gas tanks and other underground structures and
facilities. The large boxes at the rear of the property are a storage
unit for the station and a potable water storage tank and pump for the
convienence store inside the station. Water is trucked in for this
1
