To address Cargill site divestiture requirements, and
2. Excavation of feed product stained soil to address the Regional Board ground-water quality
protection criteria.
Below, Sierra-Pacific has developed a scope of work to achieve these objectives.
3.0 SCOPE OF WORK
3.1 Field Preparations
Field preparation activities will focus on addressing site specific environmental and safety items that
will be encountered during the demolition and excavation phases of the project. As presented in Table
1, eleven (11) items will be addressed during this phase of the project. The priority of these items,
their description, and assignment are presented in this table.
Initial field preparations will include preparation of a site-specific health and safety (H&S) plan,
identification of site utilities, confirmation of demolition items, and site location of all waste and
debris staging areas. Following completion of these items, a field meeting between Sierra-Pacific,
Cargill, and the contractor will be scheduled to discuss the work plan, H&S plan, and tank/pipe
cleaning activities.
Prior to initiation of demolition and excavation activities, Cargill will work with its contractor
„ to remove and clean residual feed products that remain in the tanks and transfer lines. The tanks and
lines will be pressure washed with hot water. All cleaning water and residual product will be pumped
to the existing facility mix tanks. This material will then be removed by Cargill for use at their
Washington Street facility. Any remaining sludge material will be placed in either lined roll-off
containers or a poly-tank provided by Cargill. All containers will be labeled and inventoried.
