3.4 (Task 2)-Topographic Survey and Mapping. The AE shall prepare and
submit topographic site and strip surveys in accordance with the requirements
of Section 8.0 of this SOW. A land surveyor registered in the state of
California shall supervise and certify all survey work provided under this
SOW. These documents shall be prepared in accordance with HNDM-1110-1-1
(Reference 10. 1) . The AE shall submit versions of this document in accordance
with the requirements of Section 4.0 and the schedule provided in Section 5.0
of this SOW.
3.5 Remedial Design Documents. The AE shall prepare and submit
remedial design documents that describe how the selected remedy will be con-
structed, operated and evaluated. The technical aspects shall include as a
minimum, identification of the influent and effluent streams, physical and
chemical parameters, calculated system efficiencies, equipment layout, siting
and support requirements, and any special or abnormal site conditions. The
system shall be designed for construction using readily available, off-the-
shelf, standard products and equipment to the maximum extent practical. The
system design shall include all wells, pumps, valves, controls, meters, trans-
mission lines, holding pond and other appurtenances for the system to be fully
operational. An extraction well network is being installed by the Government
at this time; the AE shall incorporate the extraction wells installed by the
Government into his design. The AE shall consider both the known and the es-
timated characteristics of the aquifer and design the groundwater remediation
system accordingly. The AE's design assumptions and decisions shall be
thoroughly documented.
3.5. 1 (Task 3)-Remedial Design Report and Analysis. The remedial
design report and analysis shall document the technical aspects, assumptions,
philosophy, and reference sources of the project in order to assure that the
design is consistent with the ROD and design manual and provide effective
remediation. The specific format and content of the document shall be consis-
tent with Section 4.2.3 of Reference 10.14 and in accordance with HNDM-1110-
1-1, section 2-10 (Reference 11.1) . The remedial design report and analysis
shall identify how the Applicable or Relevant and Appropriate Requirements
(ARARs) are addressed and shall also include construction schedules.
The AE shall submit versions of this document in accordance with the require-
ments of Section 4.0 and the schedule provided in Section 5.0 of this SOW.
AA-4
