Ripon Unified School District
Delivery procedures into the fuel tanks are established. Only drivers that are trained for unloading
are authorized to make deliveries into Ripon Unified School District site fuel oil product tank.
Prior to delivering fuel to the site, personnel shall either notify management, who shall confirm
the types and amounts of fuel to be delivered to each oil products storage tank, and/or check the
site levels on the tank to assure sufficient space for the load to be delivered.
The facility uses a manual stick gauge and site level gauge system to identify the fluid level
of the aboveground tank in feet and inches. Delivery personnel shall check the tank to ensure that
their fuel delivery will sufficiently fill the oil product container and not exceed 90%of the tank's
capacity.
Warning signs are posted at the facility alerting drivers to ensure that all connections are
completely disconnected and secured prior from departing the facility. The driver will examine
the valves, hoses, connections, fittings and lowermost drain and outlets of the vehicle for leakage
prior to loading,unloading or departure.
g) Visual Tank Gauge System Inspection
The facility uses a visual gauging systems to indicate the height of the liquid level in fuel
tanks and the oil product tanks. Height is measured in feet and inches. Ripon Unified School
District will visually inspect the system monthly and verify that the measuring system is present,
in good working order and functional and that the visual measurement is reading the measured fuel
levels correctly.
h) Inspection of storage tank area for leaks or stains
Monthly inspections of the facility's oil product storage area and fuel tank will be
performed and recorded on the SPCC facility inspection checklist. In the event that stains or leaks
are noted; corrective action will be taken to prevent or minimize the findings. All repairs will be
completed, as needed, and documented. The facility inspection checklist and repair log is retained
in Appendix B and C.
16
