EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br /> 1.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br /> t , <br /> The following Emergency Response Plan has been developed to include instruction and <br /> procedures for emergency vehicular access, evacuation procedures for personnel, methods of <br /> containing a fire, and medical emergencies All extraordinary conditions that require concise and <br /> ' timely action must be dealt with in a manner that minimizes the health and safety risks to the <br /> immediate site personnel and the general public <br /> ' 2.0 GENERAL <br /> RESPONSECONSIDERATIONS <br /> S <br /> ' All on-site personnel shall be familiar with the Emergency Response onse Plan described herein <br /> ' This section will be posted in the field office and each employee will be given a copy prior to <br /> beginning work at the site <br /> Due to the nature of the "site", the emergencies or extraordinary conditions that may arise are <br /> ' more than likely limited to personnel accidents requiring first aid, exposure to contaminated <br /> sediments, potential fire near mechanical equipment, and flooding The following procedures shall be <br /> implemented in the event of an emergency <br /> • First aid or other appropriate initial action will be administered by those closest to the <br /> accident/event This assistance will be coordinated by the on-site health and safety <br /> coordination OHSC will be conducted in a manner so that those rendering assistance <br /> are not placed in a situation of unacceptable risk The primary concern is to avoid <br /> ' placing a greater number of workers in jeopardy, <br /> • Employees will report all accidents and unusual events to the OHSC, the <br /> ' subcontractor Health and Safety representative, and the project manager (PM), <br /> • The OHSC and other on-site personnel are responsible for conducting the emergency <br /> response in an efficient, rapid, and safe manner The OHSC will decide if off site <br /> ' assistance and/or medical treatment is required and be responsible for alerting off-site <br /> authorities and arranging for their assistance, <br /> M - i <br />
