1.1 Program Summary
The field activities covered by this SAP include the following tasks:
• Installation of hand auger/direct-push borings for soil sample collection.
• Installation of hollow-stem auger borings for soil sample collection and
monitoring well installation.
• Collection of groundwater samples from newly installed monitoring wells.
The procedures presented below are designed to obtain samples representative of existing
conditions at the site at the time the samples are collected. The procedures and guidelines
outlined in this document will also be used to evaluate qualitative and quantitative data
obtained from the sampling and analytical program. Consistency of sampling, analysis,
analytical data, laboratory QA/QC data review, and reporting procedures are a high
priority.
QA/QC procedures will be conducted in the field and laboratory. Field procedures will
include field documentation, blind code labeling, and collection of quality control
samples including; sample duplicates, sampling equipment rinsate blanks, and transport
blanks. Laboratory QA/QC procedures will include completion of laboratory
performance criteria including; sample holding times, matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate
(MS/MSD) recoveries, surrogate recoveries, laboratory control samples (LCS) and
laboratory method blank results.
Sampling and Analysis Plan-Final 5/18/2012
1-2
