UPGR RD IENI ENVIR GU' r (�Iv <br /> February 1996--E11D sends second letter requesting work plan and notes that"if the <br /> residual contamination can be adequately characterized and modeled to demonstrate this <br /> site to be low risk,then the possibility that this site may be closed with the current level <br /> of soil and groundwater contamination may be considered." <br /> February 1996--UEC submits requested work plan <br /> March 1996--UEC contacts neighbor to obtain drilling access <br /> April 1996--UEC makes second attempt to obtain drilling access <br /> Mid-1996--Margaret Lagorio, RENS, replaces Diane Hinson as Supervisor, EHD trait TV <br /> May 1996--UEC informs neighbor that the matter has been referred to EHD <br /> July 1996--EIID approves UEC work plan <br /> August 1996--UEC drills three new borings on Gillies property,completing two as wells <br /> screened 50-75 feet <br /> September 1996--EHD obtains drilling access from neighbor <br /> October 1996--UEC submits addendum to work plan to address additional requests by <br /> END and neighbor <br /> October 1996--UEC drills tluee additional borings,including one on neighbor's property <br /> completed as well; UEC submits Problem Assessment Report (PAR)defining lateral and <br /> vertical extent of contamination and calculating that the remaining volume of <br /> contaminated soil is approximately 7,000 cubic yards <br /> January 1997--EHD submits comment letter stating"EHD has determined that the <br /> investigation phase is complete. Currently available data indicates that the lateral <br /> and vertical extent of the soil and groundwater plumes have been <br /> defined....PHS/EHD recommends that you submit a Corrective Action Plan <br /> (CAP)...(containing)a feasibility study and applicable cleanup levels." <br /> February 1997--UEC contacts Gillies Trucking to arrange a meeting to discuss a proposal <br /> for a CAP (meeting was never held) <br /> 1997—UEC discusses remedial options with Steve Sasson and Mel Jacobo at UST Fund <br /> September 1997--UEC submits cost estimate for CAP to UST Fund for pre-approval <br /> October 1997--UEC informs EHD that no response to CAP proposal has been received <br /> and asks EHD to contact UST Fund to request response(response still not received) <br />
