Quik Stop Markets August 14, 1990 <br />Project No. 349132-41 Page 3 <br />Each individual working on or inspecting the site shall be responsible for reading this <br />project safety plan and for acknowledging acceptance of all the requirements thereof by <br />signing the attached signoff page. All individuals shall be responsible for complying <br />with the project safety plan and for conducting themselves in a healthy and safe manner <br />at all times. Each individual shall be responsible for notifying the Site Safety Officer or <br />the Project Supervisor of any violations of, or recommended upgrades to, the project <br />safety plan. <br />Exceltech, Inc. personnel engaged in project operations shall be participants in the <br />Medical Surveillance Program, and must be cleared by the examining physician(s) to <br />wear respiratory protection devices and protective clothing for working with hazardous <br />materials. The applicable requirements under CAC Title 8, Section 5216 (which are <br />available for review at the Exceltech, Inc's. Fremont office) will be observed. <br />Field personnel from Exceltech, Inc. its subcontractors, and other site visitors will be <br />briefed on this project safety plan. They will be required to read the plan and sign a <br />statement acknowledging their review and agreement to comply with its requirements. <br />The possible major hazards to be encountered on the project are: <br />• Hydrocarbon vapors. <br />• Slight flammability of the above-mentioned vapors. <br />• Loud equipment noises. <br />• Wet and slippery surfaces. <br />• Heavy equipment operations. <br />• Open excavations and cave-ins. <br />• Working with basic construction tools. <br />Inhalation and dermal contact will be the potential exposure pathways of concern. <br />Protective clothing, including coveralls, steel -toed boots, and gloves, will be mandatory <br />for all field personnel. In addition, respiratory protective devices will be required for <br />each person, or within easy reach, should irritating odors or irritation of the <br />respiratory tract become detectable. <br />
