Step No. 3 - Laborers shall construct two (2) hazardous material holding areas. <br /> The first shall consist of two layers of 6 mil plastic covering an area of approximately 10' <br /> x 50'. This area shall have a 1' border of dirt so that the plastic will form a spill <br /> containment area. The plastic will be covered by 1/4" plywood to prevent punctures. The <br /> area will also be surrounded by a 4' wire mesh fence with one (1) gate which is capable <br /> of being locked. This area shall be designated Hazardous Materials Holding Area #1 <br /> ("HMHA#1"). <br /> The second area will be approximately 10' x 75'. It shall have one layer of 6 mil <br /> plastic covering the ground. There will be no border, plywood groundcover,or fence. This <br /> area shall be designated Hazardous Materials Holding Area #2 ("HMHA#2"). <br /> Step No. 4 - Hazardous material handlers shall remove all obvious and suspected <br /> materials or items containing hazardous materials from each staked area and place in <br /> HMHA#1. Supervisor shall monitor this removal and record and map what items are <br /> removed from each staked Site. <br /> Step No. 5 - Hazardous material handlers and Supervisors shall examine the entire <br /> Site for any other obvious or suspected hazardous materials or items containing such and <br /> remove items to HMHA#1 and record as above. <br /> Step No. 6 - Supervisor shall direct hazardous material handlers to remove any soil <br /> suspected of being actually contaminated with hazardous materials to HMHA#2. In <br /> addition, approximately one (1) cubic yard (or greater as appropriate) of surrounding soil <br /> shall be removed and placed in HMHA#2. These various piles shall be kept separate and <br /> the Supervisor shall record where the soil came from and what contaminant is suspected. <br /> Hazardous material handlers shall use either shovels and wheelbarrows or backhoe as <br /> needed. <br /> Step No. 7 - Ongoing. Supervisor shall identify all items in the HMHA#I and <br /> dispose of as required by California law. Supervisor shall be responsible for producing <br /> proper paperwork including manifests documenting such proper disposal. Any unknown <br /> 13 <br />
