GENESIS ENGINEERING & REDEVELOPMENT
3.0 SCHEDULE
The specific sequence of the field investigation tasks is flexible. After the pre-field activities
have been completed, GE&R proposes to advance one of the deep borings. Soil and
groundwater chemistry and lithologic samples collected from this initial boring will be used
to modify the additional exploratory boring program, if appropriate. The aquifer test will be
conducted after installation and development of the shallow monitoring wells, and allowing
these wells to equilibrate.
Pre-field Activities
Pre-field activities will commence upon receiving an authorization to proceed. Pre-
field activities will be completed within 10 days.
Deep Exploratory Borings
The five deep exploratory borings will be advanced. Depending upon the subsurface
material encountered in the initial deep exploratory boring, the depth interval of soil
and reconnaissance groundwater samples may be adjusted. Each deep exploratory
boring will take approximately 5-6 days to complete. The five deep exploratory
borings will take 5-6 weeks to complete.
Shallow Aquifer Test Well
The well designated as the shallow aquifer test well will be installed following
installation of the deep exploratory borings. The shallow aquifer test well will take 2-
3 days to install and develop.
Reconnaissance Soil Borings
Ten exploratory soil borings will be advanced. Advancement and sampling of the
exploratory borings may take up to one week to complete.
Shallow Groundwater Monitoring Wells
Seven shallow monitoring wells will be installed in addition to the shallow aquifer
test well. It will take approximately 1-2 weeks to install and develop the shallow
monitoring wells.
Aquifer Tests
Ripon Farm Services 7 of 7
Site Characterization Work Plan—Phase 11
July 2009
