Quarterly Monitoiing Report Apia] 2000
' Canepa s C.ai Wash(Part.Street)
Page 2
3 I GROUNDWATER MONITORING OBSERVATIONS AND PARAMETERS
'
rhe static water level in each well was measured to the neatest 001-foot with a battery-operated, flat
tape, water-level meter A clean, single-use, polypropylene, disposable bailer was lowered into each well
to check for floating product, petroleum odors, and sheen A light sheen was observed in the groundwater
' extracted fiorn MW-5 It should be rioted that the groundwater table was above the top of the well
screens A slight and moderate petroleum hydrocarbon odor was noted in the groundwater samples
collected fiom MW-2 and MW-5, respectively Petroleum hydrocarbon odors were not noted in the other
' groundwater samples
All of the monitor wells were purged using new, disposable bailers Approximately three well casing
' volumes of water wet purged from each well (see the Groundwater Monitoring Field Forms in Appendix
[3) The purged water fiom each well was placed in 55-gallon drums and left on site pending laboratory
analytical results
3 2 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING
' The gioundwater samples were collected directly from disposable bailers by transferring the groundwater
to two 40-millditei glass vials The sample containers were labeled, placed in a cooler chilled with ice,
and deliveied in accordance with chain-ot-custody procedures to GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc , in
' Modesto, California for analyses
'• 4.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING RESULTS
4 1 GROUNDWATER ELEVATION CONTOURS
I On April 18, 2000, the depth to groundwater was measured in each monitor well prior to the collection of
groundwater samples The average depth to groundwater on April 18, 2000, was approximately 22 4 feet
below the well measuring points The average depth to groundwater decreased approximately 2 2 feet
since the previous monitoring event was conducted in January 2000 The groundwater elevation ranged
fi orn 10 44 to 12 19 feet below mean sea level (bmsl) The groundwater elevation contour map (Figure 2,
Appendix A) indicates a groundwater gradient geneially toward the northeast Groundwatet elevation
data is presented in Table l A hydiograph of groundwater elevations is included as Figure 6, Appendix
A Note fiom the hydrograph in Figure 6, Appendix A and a comparison of the top of the well casing
screen interval versus the depth to water in Jable 1 thatall wells are drowned, i e the watei table is 17 to
23 feet above the top of the sci een
I
t CONDOR
