At the completion of well development, the Contractor shall measure the depth to the top of the sand pack to ensure that no slippage has occurred. If the top of the sand pack is not at the design depth, then the Contractor shall install additional sand to bring the top of the sand pack to the design depth. 3.5 SURFACE-C MPLETION A. Verify excavation for vault is correct. Level and compact subgrade beneath vault to 90% relative density by ASTM D 1557. B. Coordinate placement of inlet pipe required by other sections. C. Place vault such that top of vault lid extends approximately 1 inch above rough grade. D. Survey top of vault wall. Walls shall be level, with no more than 0.25 inch difference between any comers. E.
