4.) Termination and follow-up: <br /> A. Establish when response is to be terminated. <br /> B. Ensure that no waste incompatible with the released material is processed until clean <br /> up procedures are completed and all emergency equipment listed in the contingency <br /> plan is cleaned and fit for its intended use. <br /> C. Investigate accident and revise response plan if necessary. Submit report to corporate <br /> and state or local agencies if necessary. <br /> STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES IN CASE OF EMERGENCY <br /> Plant Manager/Production Manager: <br /> • Call appropriate emergency personnel. <br /> • Assure supervisors have accounted for all employees. <br /> • Initiate a plan of action based on the type of emergency. <br /> • Instruct supervisors as to whether to shelter or release employees. <br /> • Notify relatives if employees are involved in an emergency. <br /> • Investigate causes of the emergency. <br /> Area Supervisors: <br /> • Ensure employee safety in the event of an emergency. <br /> • Notify plant/production manager. <br /> • Shut down machinery and utilities if needed and safe to do so. <br /> • Relocate employees to a safe area and make a head count. <br /> • Send employees home once accounted for, if appropriate. <br /> • Refer questions to the plant/production manager. <br /> All Employees: <br /> • Notify supervisor upon discovery of a fire or other emergency, or sound the alarm. <br /> • Follow instructions of supervisor if ordered to shut down machinery and utilities. <br /> • When ordered to evacuate a plant or work area, all employees not actively engaged in <br /> resolving the emergency will follow the established routed in an orderly manner and <br /> evacuate the plant or area. <br /> • After evacuation, employees are to proceed to the designated congregation area. <br /> • Do not use the telephone or paging system unless instructed. <br /> • Do not block access routes or hinder the emergency response personnel. <br /> 6 <br />
