Inspection Report • • Report Date
Flag City Wastewater Treatment Plant 6 November 2003
San Joaquin County
The Discharger reported violations from bacterial tests conducted on effluent discharged in June. Effluent
sample testing is part of the Discharger's process control sampling and is sent to a contract laboratory.
The laboratory lengthy turnaround time for the testing results caused the plant staff a time delay in
affecting a quick response to change the amount of chlorine added to lower the bacteria count in the
effluent. Plant staff believes that increasing chemical dosages and requesting quicker turnaround to
reduce process control response time have solved the problem.
SUMMARY:
No violations or potential violations were observed during the onsite inspection. All treatment train
components appeared healthy and operating as designed.
ATTACHMENTS:
Attachment A—Inspection photo log
;P Zj
L
GEORGE W.
