PC: 9-6-90
QX-90-1
q. Demolition of the old bridge site and construction at the
new site shall be performed to prevent siltation of the
river. Construction shall take place during dry weather
and low streamflow. Construction details shall be
included in the Erosion Control Plan.
r. The retention/percolation basin shall be designed to
provide sufficient water storage capacity to allow
percolation of surface water to the aquifer in the area
of the proposed quarry excavation. Calculations for
sizing the retention basin shall be approved by the
Department of Public Works prior to inclusion in the
Excavation Plan. The Excavation Plan shall include
detailed grading measures to provide drainage to the
retention basin and to prevent ponding of water on the
remainder of the site. Grading shall be performed to
prevent direct runoff to the Mokelumne River .
S . The Excavation Plan shall establish an adequate setback
from the drainage pond to prevent inundation of the
gravel extraction area in the event of rainfall grater
than the ten-year storm. The setback shall be developed
by a soils engineer or certified engineer geologist to
ensure that it is adequate to prevent pond slope failure
due to quarry excavation.
t. If the applicant determines that waterway markers (e. g. ,
signs or buoys) are necessary to warn or advise boaters
of hazards during bridge construction, the markers must
be placed or installed in accordance with the
requirements as specified in Title 14 , Article 6 ,
California Code of Regulations. Marker details shall be
approved by the State Department of Boating and
Waterways, and evidence of that approval shall be
submitted to the Planning Division. All required signs
shall be in place before and during construction of the
bridge.
U. The Reclamation Plan for the north side of the Mokelumne
River shall include grading and drainage details that
will conduct surface runoff towards the large stock pond
in the southwest corner of the site. Grading and
drainage facilities shall be designed and constructed to
maintain current runoff 'levels to the wetland area.
V. The route of the access road and bridge through the
riparian corridor shall be adjusted to avoid removal and
-40-
