SECTION 8 -QUANTITIES <br /> i <br /> The estimate of work to be done and material to be furnished are approximate only, <br /> being given as a basis for the comparison of bids and the City does not expressly or by <br /> implication agree that the actual amount of work will correspond therewith; but reserves <br /> the right to increase or decrease the amount of any class or portion of theiwork or to <br /> omit portions of the work that may be deemed necessary by the Engineer: The <br /> quantities are listed on the bid form provided with these specifications. <br /> SECTION 9 -TIMING OF CONSTRUCTION <br /> The time of construction activities shall be limited between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., <br /> unless approved by the Engineer. No work shall be done on the weekends, holidays j <br /> and before or after these specified hours, unless otherwise approved by the Engineer. <br /> No mechanical equipment, including hauling by trucks, shall start before 7:30 a.m. and <br /> must shut down before 4:30 p.m. unless approved by the Engineer. <br /> SECTION 10 -SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES' <br /> To minimize public inconvenience, possible hazards, and to restore street's and other <br /> work areas to their original condition as soon as practicable, the Contractor shall <br /> diligently prosecute the work to con1pletion. If, in the Engineer's opinion, the Contractor <br /> fails to prosecute the work to the extent that the above purposes are not being <br /> accomplished, the Contractor shall, upon orders from the Engineer, immediately take <br /> the steps necessary to fully accomplish said purposes. All costs of prosecuting the work <br /> as described herein shall be absorbed in the Contractor's bid. Should the Contractor fail <br /> to take the necessary steps to fully accomplish said proposed purposes, after orders of <br /> the Engineer to do so, the Engineer may suspend the work in whole or in 'part, until the <br /> Contractor takes said steps. With or without such suspension, the Engineer may cause <br /> such steps to be taken by force account or other means at the Contractor's expense. <br /> Ongoing Work Adiacent to the Protect <br /> The City reserves the right to perform or allow performance of other work, within or <br /> adjacent to the limits of this project, at any time, by other forces. Construction work by <br /> other contractors and utility companies may be ongoing simultaneously within or adjacent <br /> to the limits of work for this project. The Contractor shall coordinate and cooperate with all <br /> other contractors and utility companies throughout the duration of this project to avoid <br /> delays and conflicts. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to install the necessary traffic <br /> control where needed to avoid delays and not disrupt the adjacent work. The Contractor <br /> shall remove any traffic control installed when no longer needed and as directed by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> ' Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract <br /> items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> DIVISION I1-4 Special Requirements <br /> i <br />
