ORO <br /> Any survey monuments that are removed as part of the construction shall be replaced by <br /> the Contractor, and a Record of Survey, as required by state law, shall be filed by a <br /> licensed Land Surveyor at the Contractor's expense. <br /> The fact that any such pipe or other underground facility is not shown upon the Plans <br /> shall not relieve the Contractor of his responsibility under this Section. It shall be the <br /> Contractor's responsibility to ascertain the existence of any underground improvements <br /> or facilities indicated on the plans, indicated by locating services, or evidenced by <br /> facilities visible in the field, which may be subject to damage by reason of his operations. <br /> ` Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract <br /> items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 14 - PROTECTION OF EXISTING UTILITIES <br /> The Contractor is required to take due precautionary measures regarding the existing <br /> underground, overhead, and at-grade utilities (including their associated structures), <br /> which are not to be changed in location, by carefully supporting and protecting them <br /> from damage. In case of damage, they shall be restored by the Contractor, without <br /> additional compensation, to as good a condition as that in which they were found. The <br /> Contractor's attention is directed to Sections 5.02 and 5.03 of the City of Tracy Standard <br /> �- Specifications. <br /> It is the Contractor's responsibility to notify and coordinate with the various utility <br /> companies (Pacific Bell, PG&E, TCI Cablevision, AT&T, and the Chevron Pipeline <br /> Company) at least 14 days in advance of any work scheduled to be performed near their <br /> facilities, and to schedule their own work accordingly. <br /> As necessary, the Contractor shall pothole these utilities prior to working in this area to <br /> avoid damage to them. It shall also be the Contractor's responsibility to provide if <br /> r.. requested by the utility company(s) detailed plan(s) prepared by a California Registered <br /> Civil Engineer showing necessary support of their utilities during coordinated work. The <br /> Contractor is directed to contact these agencies before submitting bids and to be familiar <br /> to, with their requirements. Potholing shall be considered as part of the other contract bid <br /> items, and as such, no separate payment will be made. <br /> The Contractor's attention is directed to Section 5-5 of the Standard Specifications for <br /> Public Works Construction "Greenbook", regarding the Contractor's operations being <br /> delayed or interfered with due to ongoing utility relocation work by the various utility <br /> �. companies. <br /> The Contractor agrees to assume liability and to hold the City of Tracy, its officers, and <br /> employees harmless from any damages resulting from the existence of underground <br /> utilities and structures not reported to the Engineer, not indicated on the public records <br /> examined, or located at variance with that reported or shown on records examined. <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract <br /> r - <br /> DIVISION II-6 Special Requirements <br />
