4.0 <br /> i.. <br /> SECTION 21 -TESTING <br /> Testing is required for compaction, gradation, and asphalt concrete properties (additional <br /> tests may be requested by the Engineer), and all testing will be provided by an <br /> independent laboratory called for and paid for by the City. The cost of failing tests will be <br /> charged to the Contractor. <br /> Whenever a reference is made in the specifications to a California Test by numbers, it <br /> shall mean the California Test is in effect on the day the Notice Inviting Bids is dated. <br /> SECTION 22 -"AS-BUILT" PLANS <br /> The Contractor shall prepare and update, in red ink, "As-Built" plans at the end of every <br /> ` month. The Contractor shall submit to the City a complete set of"As-Built" plans prior to <br /> acceptance of the project. <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract <br /> items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 23 -COORDINATION WITH ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS AND <br /> MAINTAINED ACCESS TO PROPERTIES <br /> The Contractor shall coordinate with the adjacent property owners and maintain access to <br /> their properties at all times. Temporary asphalt access ramps shall be provided and <br /> .. maintained by the Contractor to all properties requiring temporary closure of their existing <br /> driveways. <br /> If the contractor needs to shut down the existing sewer or water services, it shall be done <br /> in accordance with Section 19 of these Special Requirements and as directed by the <br /> Engineer. Safety of open <br /> trenches and other construction work is the Contractor's responsibility. The Contractor's <br /> LW attention is directed to the location of the project site within the vicinity of residential <br /> areas, commercial areas, and schools. The Contractor shall provide and erect proper <br /> signs, barricades, and fences as directed by the Engineer to safely secure the <br /> construction area. <br /> There are existing overhead electric and telephone transmission lines adjacent to the <br /> site. These overhead utilities are shown on the Topographic Site Survey drawing <br /> contained in these specifications.
