r. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract <br /> items of work involved and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 4 -TRAFFIC CONTROL: <br /> It is the responsibility of the Contractor to install and coordinate his traffic control plan with <br /> other contractors and utility companies working on adjacent roadways so as to avoid <br /> delays and conflicts to either project. <br /> The Contractor shall present at the preconstruction conference, for the Engineer's <br /> approval, a complete and comprehensive plan describing how traffic control will be <br /> achieved during the life of the project. <br /> The Contractor shall comply with the latest edition of the "Work Area Traffic Control <br /> Handbook" published by Building News Inc. and "Manual of Uniform Traffic Control <br /> Devices, Part VI", hereinafter referred to as the Traffic Control Manual, for items related <br /> to traffic control within the work area. <br /> &W Construction area signs shall be furnished, installed, maintained and removed by the <br /> Contractor when no longer required. The term "Construction Area Signs" shall also <br /> include temporary object markers and portable delineators required for the direction of <br /> public traffic through or around the work area during construction. Object markers and <br /> portable delineators listed or designated on the plans shall be furnished, installed, <br /> maintained, and removed by the Contractor in the same manner specified for <br /> �• construction area signs. <br /> ' The provisions in this section will not relieve the Contractor from his responsibility to <br /> i,. provide such additional devices or take such measures as may be necessary to comply <br /> with the provisions of Section 7-1.09, Public Safety, of the State Standard <br /> ' Specifications. If any component in the traffic control system is displaced or ceases to <br /> 4,. operate or function as specified from any cause during the progress of the work, the <br /> Contractor shall immediately repair or replace said component and shall restore the <br /> component to its original location. <br /> Construction is on City-owned property and provisions shall be made for the safe <br /> passage of vehicular and pedestrians traffic around the area of the work at all times. <br /> Every effort shall be made by the Contractor to permit access into private driveways. <br /> Local and emergency traffic shall be given access to their destination through the <br /> project area. The Contractor shall be responsible for keeping the City Police <br /> Department and City Fire Department informed of obstructions to either public or private <br /> roads caused by his operations. <br /> As needed, the Contractor shall post "No Parking, Tow-Away' signs on barricades along <br /> the roadway adjacent to the project site's perimeter at least 48 hours prior to the <br /> Division III-3 <br /> L <br />
