In lieu of payment as extra work as specified in Section 7-1.08, of the Standard <br /> Specifications, the cost of furnishing, installing and maintaining signs, lights, barricades, <br /> and other facilities for the safety, sole convenience, and direction of public'traffic around <br /> the work area, all as shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer, shall be <br /> considered as included in the various Contract items of work and no additional <br /> compensation will be allowed. <br /> In lieu of Section 12-2.02, of the Standard Specifications, the cost of furnishing all <br /> flagmen to provide for the passage of public traffic through the work area under the <br /> provisions in Section 7-1.08 and Section 7-1.09, of the Standard Specifications, shall be <br /> considered as included in the various Contract items of work and no additional <br /> compensation will be allowed. <br /> MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, including all the labor (including flagging costs), materials, (including <br /> Construction Area signs), tools, equipment, incidentals, and for doing all the work <br /> involved in Traffic Control, including installing, maintaining, relocating, and removing the <br /> components of the Traffic Control system throughout the duration of the project, <br /> (including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), all as specified in the Standard <br /> Specifications, these special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer, shall be <br /> considered as included in the prices paid for the various contract items of work involved <br /> and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 5 - CONSTRUCTION STAKING: <br /> All construction staking shall be done in accordance with Section 2.14 of the City of <br /> Tracy Standard Specifications. Stakes or marks will be set by a State Licensed <br /> Surveyor or a State authorized Registered Civil Engineer to establish the lanes and <br /> grades required for the completion of the work specified in these specifications and on <br /> the plans. Contractor shall be responsible for providing such stakes or marks a <br /> reasonable length of time in advance of starting operations that require such stakes or <br /> marks. Stakes and marks set by the contractor's surveyor or civil engineer shall be . <br /> carefully preserved by the Contractor. In case such stakes and marks are destroyed or <br /> damaged they will be replaced at the surveyor's earliest convenience. The'Contractor <br /> will be responsible for the cost of necessary replacement or restoration of stakes and <br /> L marks. p <br /> The Contractor shall be fully responsible for the accuracy of the construction staking. <br /> Construction stakes and marks shall be furnished and set with accuracy to jassure that <br /> the completed work conforms to the lines, grades, and section shown on the plans. All <br /> computations necessary to establish the exact position of the work from control points <br /> shall be performed by the Contractor. All computation, survey notes, and other records <br /> necessary to accomplish the work shall be neat, legible and accurate. Such <br /> computations, notes, and other records shall be made available to the Engineer upon <br /> request and shall become the property of the City and delivered to the Engineer before <br /> acceptance of the project. Construction stakes shall be removed from the site of the <br /> work when no longer needed. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to notify the <br /> Division'III-5 <br />
