SECTION 7— AGGREGATE BASE: <br /> In general, this work includes furnishing, placing, and compacting Class 2 crushed <br /> aggregate base material in the foot prints of the two existing pump houses once they are <br /> torn down, as described in these special provisions, along with other items of work that <br /> are required by the plans, Standard Specifications, these special provisions, and in <br /> accordance with Sections 200-2 and 301-2 of the SSPWC to be performed, placed, <br /> constructed or installed. <br /> L" A 6-inch thick bedding of crushed aggregate base material shall be placed under the <br /> new asphalt concrete paving where described in these special provisions and shown on <br /> the plans. The aggregate base material shall be compacted at its optimum moisture <br /> 160 content to at least 95% relative compaction. <br /> The aggregate base shall not be placed before the subgrade is approved by the <br /> La Engineer, and the surface of the finished aggregate base at any point shall not vary more <br /> than 0.05 foot above or below the grade established on the plans. <br /> The subgrade shall be scarified to a minimum depth of six inches (6") below existing <br /> grade, compacted at its optimum moisture content, prior to placing the aggregate base <br /> material. <br /> Segregation of large or fine particles of aggregate shall be avoided, and the material as <br /> spread shall be free from pockets of large and fine material. <br /> +� The Contractor shall compact each layer of aggregate base material to not less than <br /> 95% relative compaction, in accordance with Section 301-1.3 "Relative Compaction" of <br /> SSPWC. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> +� Full compensation for conforming to the requirements of this section, not otherwise <br /> provided for, including all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, and for <br /> doing all the work involved in placing and compacting the Aggregate Base, including <br /> �.. compacting the underlying subbase material, complete in place, all as specified in the <br /> Standard Specifications, these special provisions, and as directed by the Engineer, shall <br /> be considered as included in the prices paid for demolition of the existing pump houses <br /> and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br /> SECTION 8 -ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVING: <br /> In general, this work includes placing a three inch (3") thick layer of asphalt concrete at <br /> the locations shown on the plans for the Corporation Yard well site (basically the foot <br /> print of the existing pump house once it is torn down), as described in these special <br /> provisions, along with other items of work that are required by the plans, Standard <br /> Specifications, or these special provisions to be performed, placed, constructed or <br /> installed. <br /> w <br /> Division III-8 <br /> LO <br />
