Equipment, or portions of equipment, which are not water resistant will be <br /> repeatedly wiped with a paper towel moistened with a solution of AlconoxTM <br /> and distilled water until clean. <br /> 3. Discarded decontamination solutions will be accumulated and containerized in <br /> U.S. DOT IA2-rated drums, or equivalent, for further characterization and <br /> disposal. <br /> 3.3 Investigation Derived Wastes <br /> Investigation Derived Wastes ("IDW") such as: soil cuttings, excess sample material, <br /> decontamination rinsate, disposable personal protective equipment, sampling equipment, and <br /> other waste solids and liquids will be properly stored in U.S. DOT IA2-rated drums,pending <br /> waste characterization and classification. Drums will be appropriately labeled, and within 60 <br /> days following receipt of all waste analytical data, a request for disposal will be submitted to <br /> an appropriate landfill or other disposal facility in accordance with the waste classification. <br /> Within two weeks following receipt of written authorization of waste acceptance, all <br /> investigation-derived waste will be transported to the appropriate,off-site disposal facility by a <br /> transporter meeting all certification and licensing requirements of the State of California. <br /> 3.4 Boring Locations and Surveying <br /> Upon completion of the proposed borings and the monitoring wells, geographic locations will <br /> be set using a measuring tape with respect to fixed locations. A licensed surveyor will survey <br /> boring locations horizontally with the California State Plane coordinates and vertically with <br /> the USGS 1929 datum. Additional site landmarks will also be surveyed. <br /> 3.5 Sample Handing <br /> Procedures for sample handling are outlined in this Section. Types of sample containers, <br /> sample volumes,methods of preservation and identification, sample holding times, and <br /> packaging and shipping methods are discussed. <br /> 3.5.1 Sample Labels <br /> A sample label will be completed and attached to each sample container. Labels are made of <br /> a waterproof material backed with a water-resistant adhesive.
