Properties derived from SVE pilot test data will be utilized in final design of the SVE treatment
system. The data will be used to determine field-scale airflow behavior including system
response curves, distance vs. vacuum plots, and well efficiency calculations.
7.2 Regulatory Liaison and Project Management and Permitting
Consultant Project Director and Manager will coordinate and oversee all activities relating to
the pilot test scope of work and will be supervised by Consultant's Principal Hydrogeologist, a
State of California Professional Geologist.
Consultant will represent the Client at meetings and in telephone conversations with the
RWQCB and/or other regulatory agencies to establish a mutual understanding of the methods
and criteria necessary for completion of the SVE pilot test objectives.
Necessary permits and access agreements as required for installing the soil vapor extraction and
test equipment will be secured by Consultant. These will include encroachment permits from any
adjacent landowners and from San Joaquin County PHSEHD. Because of the short nature of the
SVE Pilot test an Authority to Construct Permit will not be necessary from the San Joaquin
Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District(SJVUAPCD) as long as each test is less than five
(5) days in duration.
7.3 Soil Vapor Extraction Testing
To evaluate the feasibility of the proposed SVE remedial strategy, pilot tests for remediation of
soil using SVE will be implemented at the LNC site in two phases. This will result in a total of
eight (8) separate tests for the four identified investigative areas at the LNC site. The pilot tests
will be conducted as follow:
M ain\D:AEnvironmentaI\LN CV\10152007.wpd 49
