All fill slopes shall be compacted by slope rolling and <br /> triming , or shall be overfilled and trimmed back to planned <br /> grade , to expose a firm , smooth surface free of loose <br /> material. <br /> 3 . 09 DRAINAGE CHANNELS <br /> Construct collection channels, as shown. Trim slopes neatly <br /> to line. Final flow line grade shall be uniform to provide <br /> free drainage without puddling. <br /> 3 . 10 TESTING <br /> A. As part of the inspection program, the engineer will take <br /> samples and perform moisture content, gradation, compaction, <br /> and density tests during placement of backfill materials to <br /> check compliance with these Specifications. The Contractor <br /> shall remove surface material at locations designated by the <br /> Engineer and provide such assistance as necessary for <br /> sampling and testing by the engineer and his <br /> representatives. <br /> B.
