3. Be available for Consultation by the Project Manager <br /> C or Site Safety Officer. <br /> i� 3.2 PROJECT MANAGER <br /> The Project Manager (PM) shall direct onsite investigations and <br /> operational efforts. At the site the PM, assisted by the Site <br /> 0 Safety Officer (SSO) , has primary responsibility for: <br /> 1 . Assuring that appropriate personnel protective equipment <br /> is available and properly utilized by all onsite <br /> personnel ; <br /> .1 2. Assuring that personnel are aware of the provisions of <br /> this plan , are instructed in the wort: practices <br /> 4 necessary to ensure safety, and are familiar with <br /> planned procedures for dealing with emergencies; <br /> I� <br /> 3. Assuring all field personnel have a minimum of 24 <br /> hours training; <br /> z 4. Assuring that personnel are aware of the potential <br /> a <br /> hazards associated with site operations; <br /> 5.. Monitoring the safety performance of all personnel to <br /> ensure that the required wort; practices are employed; <br /> t. <br /> �. 6. Correcting any work practices or conditions that may <br /> result in injury or exposure to hazardous substances; <br /> 7. Preparing any accident/incident reports (see attached <br /> Accident Report Form) ; and <br /> e. Assuring the completion of Plan Acceptance and Feedback <br /> Forms attached hereto. <br /> 3. 3 SITE SAFETY OFFICER <br /> The Site Safety Officer (SSO) shall : <br /> 1 . Implement project Health and Safety Plans, and report <br /> any deviations from the anticipated conditions des- <br /> cribed in the plan. <br /> 2. Ensure that all monitoring equipment is calibrated <br /> on a daily basis and that the results are properly <br /> recorded and filed. (See Appendix for' Daily <br /> i . Calibration Check Sheet) <br /> .3. Ensure monitoring equipment is operating correctly and <br /> provide for maintenance if it is not. <br /> +4. Assume any other duties as directed by the PM, WRHSO <br /> i (in the Western Region) , and the FWHSO. <br /> f�' - 5 - <br />
