30 November 2018 AdvancedGeo
AGE Project No. 07-1537 Environmental
Page 2 of 4 .EIV
Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985).
Prior to mobilization, each proposed boring location will be clearly marked, and a utility
clearance will be obtained through Underground Service Alert.
2.2. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION
A total of two (2) shallow zone groundwater monitoring wells will be advanced offsite in
the City of Stockton right-of-way utilizing a truck or track mounted drilling rig equipped
with 8-inch diameter hollow stem augers (Figure 3). Each boring will be advanced to a
total depth of 50 feet below surface grade (bsg), with well screen installed from 25 to 50
feet bsg.
During well installations soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals starting at
five feet bsg and extending to the termination depth of the boring. Samples will be
collected for lithological evaluation only. However, if significant impact is encountered,
soil samples may be preserved for laboratory analysis. Field personnel may adjust the
frequency and method of sampling in consultation with an AGE Professional Geologist
during boring advancement.
Procedures for well installations are presented in Sections 3.1 . and 3.2.
2.2.1 . Well Development and Survey
Following installation, the proposed wells will be developed to maximize water flow and
minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or
bailing. The top of each newly installed well casing (well head) will be surveyed to
determine its elevation relative to North American Vertical Datum 88. An as built
diagram of the proposed construction for the proposed wells has been included as
Figure 4. Procedures for development and survey are presented in Section 3.3.
2.2.2. Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
Following installation, groundwater monitoring and sampling activities will be conducted
for the proposed wells on a quarterly basis for one year (four sampling events);
following one year of sampling site closure and the monitoring schedule should be re-
evaluated for frequency. Monitoring activities will include recording depth to
groundwater measurements and collection of groundwater samples for laboratory
analysis by a California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program laboratory for
the following:
