Mr. Dennis Abrahamson Attachment A
Simpson Paper Company Page 4 of 7
Ripon, CA February 29, 1988
IV. FIELD WORK
1 . Drill and case holes.
a. Holes to be completed under guidelines set forth in
Para. - 2555 (General Ground Water Monitoring Requirements ) ,
Subchapter 15 , Title 23 of the California Administrative Code.
b. Observation wells would consist of 2-inch PVC
installed in 8-inch holes, graveleked, and completed with
steel risers cemented in-place. `- 'K'o
c. Wells would penetrate not less than 15 feet into
the water table, be screened opposite the water table and
throughout the total saturated section.
2. Survey reference-point elevations of all observation
wells including existing supply wells Nos. 1 , 2, and 3, and
existing observation wells Nos. M7A and M7B.
3. Measurement and sampling program.
a. Measure water levels in all observation wells
noting status of pumping wells (on or off) , effluent/sludge
storage conditions, discharge to percolation fields, and river
stage.
b. Run conductivity profile throughout saturated
section on newly installed wells, and on Wells M7A at a depth of
100 feet, and on M7B between a depth of 20 and 40 feet.
C. Sample wells, and measure during sampling
temperature, conductivity, pH, and dissolved oxygen.
d. Send samples to laboratory with chain-of-custody
records and analyze for major cations and anions, plus TDS by
residue, silica, and conductivity, and other constituents which
may be desired by either the State or Simpson.
4. Continuous water-level measurements on Well 1 and Ob-6.
a. Drill Ob-6 first.
b. Install water-level-measuring device (pressure
transducer) in Well 1 and in Ob-6 for making continuous water-
level measurements recorded on a data logger.
C. Install conductivity probe in Ob-6 for continuous
monitoring on the data logger.
4
