Section 2 <br /> Drilling Details <br /> 2.1 ON-SITE SUPERVISION OF DRILLING AND WELL INSTALLATION <br /> ACTIVITIES <br /> The well destruction and construction activities will be performed by: <br /> Woodward Drilling, <br /> 550 River Road <br /> Rio Vista,CA 94571 Phone:707-374-4300 <br /> Contractor's License:C-57 710079 <br /> The Contractor will be responsible for obtaining permits for both well destruction and well <br /> construction from the San Joaquin Environmental Health Department,304 E.Weber Ave.,3rd Mr., <br /> Stockton,CA 95202 Phone:209-468-3420. The contractor will also comply with all requirements of <br /> the California and San Joaquin County Well Standards. The contractor will mark the well site and <br /> request utility marking from Underground Service Alert,at least 48 hours prior to commencement of <br /> well construction. <br /> Destruction of well MW-5 will commence with the removal and disposal of the 4"thick concrete pad <br /> and tubular steel well housing. The existing 4"diameter p.v.c.well casing and screen,as well as the <br /> existing gravel pack will be removed by overdrilling to an approximate 30 foot depth. The annular <br /> space will be backfilled with neat cement grout and mounded at the surface to drain surface water <br /> away from the borehole. <br /> Construction of well MW-5R will be located approximately 25-50 feet west of well MW-5 on City <br /> land. Well construction will be by hollow-stem auger boring(8"diameter)to a depth of 3340 feet <br /> below ground surface. <br /> 2.2 DRILLING EQUIPMENT AND TECHNIQUES <br /> Hand augering should be performed for the fust 5 feet below ground to ensure that no unmarked <br /> utilities are encountered. The remaining construction will be accomplished using a truck-mounted, <br /> continuous-flight hollow-stem auger drill rig equipped with an 8-inch outer diameter(OD)hollow- <br /> stem auger. Angered soil and water will be disbursed on the land surface at the site. <br /> 2.3 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES <br /> Equipment shall arrive at the site in a clean condition,free of surface grease and oil. No bored soil <br /> shall be reintroduced to the well in any way. Well casing,caps and screen,as well as sand filter,shall <br /> be clean and contaminant free.
