I06 June 2000 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 97-0343 <br /> IPage 2 of 7 <br /> McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MA-1), a State of California Department of Health Services (DHS)- <br /> certified analytical laboratory <br />' 2 2 LOGGING <br />' Soil was extruded from the duplicate sample brass sleeves and was screened for the presence of <br /> organic vapor using an organic vapor meter equipped with a photo-ionization detector(PID Thermo <br /> Environmental 580A, 10 0 eV, calibrated to isobutylene), and the readings were recorded on the <br />' boring log The soil was then visually described in accordance with the Unified Soil Classification <br /> System (see Appendix A- Boring Logs) <br /> t2 3 WELL AND BORING COMPLETION <br />' Borings MW1, MW2, and MW3 were dual-completed as ground water monitoring wells / vapor <br /> extraction wells Two-inch diameter PVC casing with 0 020-inch slotted screen was installed from <br /> 55 feet to 35 feet bsg in borings MW2 and MW3 and from 54 feet to 34 feet bsg in boring MW 1, <br /> lie with blank casing extended to the surface The filter pack (No 3 Lonestar sand) was installed from <br /> the bottom of the screened interval to 2 feet above the screened interval The wells were then <br /> developed using a surge block to settle the sand pack A nominal 2-foot bentonite pellet plug was <br />' then installed above the filter pack and hydrated Cement grout was placed above the bentonite plug <br /> to a depth of 28 5 feet bsg in bonngs MW 1 and MW3 and to a depth of 26 5 feet bsg in boring MW2 <br />' and allowed to harden One-half foot of sand was then placed in each boring A fifteen-foot section <br /> of screened casing was then Installed in each boring with the sand pack Installed to approximately <br /> 2 feet above the screened section A nominal 2-foot bentomte plug was installed above the sand pack <br /> t and hydrated The wells were then grouted to near the surface with portland cement Water-tight, <br /> traffic-rated well boxes were then installed over the wells As-built diagrams for each well are <br /> included on the boring logs <br />' 24 LABORATORY ANALYSES OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> Selected soil samples were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in <br /> accordance with EPA Methods 5030/8015m, and <br />' Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) <br /> in accordance with EPA Method 8020 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
